Peugeot 5008 SUV: what else are buyers considering?

The 5008 is our favourite large SUV, so it's unsurprisingly popular with What Car? readers. But which other cars do 5008 buyers consider, and do they deserve a place on your shortlist?...

Kia Sorento

Interest in Kia's seven-seat SUV only increases as time goes on, and since the Sorento offers both lots of space and a strong 2.2-litre diesel engine that's great for towing, we can see why. The 5008 feels more agile through corners, but if you're after a similarly large and practical SUV, the Sorento is a good choice.

Toyota RAV4

The Peugeot 5008 doesn't offer any hybrid options, so it makes sense that green-minded buyers might gravitate towards Toyota's hybrid RAV4 instead. Indeed, interest peaks at 9% by the time they're ready to buy. Aside from low running costs, the RAV4 is fairly practical and will hold on to its value well. There's no seven-seat option, though, and rivals such as the 5008 are better to drive.
