The VZ versions of the Cupra Ateca deliver huge performance and impressive practicality but the model is starting to feel its age, especially inside. If you want a sports SUV with a more upmarket interior and sharper handling, we recommend taking a look at the Cupra Formentor. If you do go for the Ateca, we reckon the 300 in VZ2 trim is the one to choose.
The trim
Entry-level V1 trim comes with all the equipment you could ever need, including 19in alloys, cruise control, dual-zone climate control and keyless entry. Still, it’s hard to justify the premium you’ll pay against the regular Seat Ateca.
The engine
With more power, this mid-spec engine is arguably the best of the normal options, giving you a good mix of performance and efficiency. That said, we’d still just stick to the most powerful engine or the regular Seat Ateca.
