Accessibility & Motability
Usability for people with disability or their carers
Motability - Access
Few small cars make getting in and out easier than the Honda Jazz.
We're off to a good start with front doors that open all the way to 70 degrees. That's a much wider opening than the Ford Fiesta (63 degrees) or Volkswagen Polo (65 degrees) provide, and trails the Vauxhall Corsa by just one degree.
The rear seats also fold forward to leave a large, flat load area, rather than the sloping boot floor of many rivals. This is especially welcome for wheelchair users because it means there's space for a fully assembled wheelchair when the rear seats are folded down. With the seats in use, most folded ’chairs will still fit.
Motability - Ease of use and options
Every Jazz is easy to drive, not least because an automatic gearbox is standard.
Entry-level SE cars also have rain-sensing wipers and electrically adjustable door mirrors, while stepping up to SR trim adds front and rear parking sensors, and EX trim a rear parking camera.
There’s also a Crosstar version of the Jazz, which has SUV-lookalike styling and a higher ride height, although this is only available in EX specification.
