What's the car like?

Like its premium rivals, which include the Audi Q5 and Land Rover Discovery Sport, the BMW X3 is a large SUV that caters for the top price end of this market. Buyers here expect a premium badge and a luxurious interior, but still want the versatility and practicality of an SUV.
Fortunately, the current X3 is one of the best cars of its type. It's classy inside and out, spacious and good to drive. Key benefits include good handling, an easy-to-use infotainment system a strong range of diesel engines - although it's ultimately the xDrive20d diesel which we recomment. Some good news, then, because that's the engine you get as part of today's deal of the day.
We'd usually opt for the entry-level SE specifcation, which gets you most of the kit you're likely to want, but the xLine trim you're getting here grants you various visual upgrades including larger alloy wheels and a sports steering wheel, too.
Should I choose any options?
You shouldn't have any need to - even in standard form, the X3 comes with a generous amount of equipment. There are various accessories available, though, including rear seat entertainment systems and child seats.
What are its rivals?

Competition among large premium SUVs is strong, but the field is somewhat limited. If you don't want to stray towards the more expensive Range Rover or Audi Q7, then your choices are narrowed down to the Mercedes-Benz GLC, Audi Q5, Volvo XC60 and Land Rover Discovery Sport - currently our favourite car in this class.
The BMW X3 range costs from £33,945 - making it cheaper than the £37,170 Audi Q5 and £36,030 Mercedes GLC.
