Deal of the Day: Volvo XC60

The punchy D4 diesel engine has plenty of power and torque to cope with anything you throw at it while still being hushed and comfortable.

Inside, the seats are as supportive as a car seat can get and come with adjustable lumbar support that many of the XC60’s rivals charge extra for.

A huge 495-litre boot and split-folding rear seats mean that there’s plenty of room for lugging things around, and if you’re carrying people a car full of people you can rest assured that they’ll be travelling in comfort.

The spacious cabin provides lots of head and legroom for passengers in the front and the rear while three children can easily fit across the back seats.

Against

The six-speed automatic gearbox is quite slow to react and isn’t smooth when you want to accelerate quickly.

There’s quite a bit of body lean through corners and it doesn’t ride that smoothly at slow speeds.

Should I add any options?

There’s a decent list of standard equipment that includes climate and cruise control, alloy wheels, automatic lights and wipers, DAB radio and Bluetooth.

Consider upping to the Sensus Connect upgrade, though, as this adds a larger 7.0-inch display and sat-nav for £500.
