Volkswagen Tiguan reviewed on video
The small SUV market is full of strong contenders, so can the Volkswagen Tiguan stand out from the crowd?...

Small SUVs are some of the most popular choices in the UK, and cars like the Seat Ateca, Kia Sportage and Nissan Qashqai are ensuring that competition is tough.
The VW Tiguan used to play towards the cheaper end of this market, but in its second generation has been reinvented as a truly premium SUV - which has also pushed up its price tag. Fortunately, we're already big fans of the Tiguan, and its smart, practical interior and strong range of engines means it's a top choice for families.
Is Volkswagen ready to take on high-end premium SUVs, though? Rivals like the BMW X1, Audi Q3 and Mercedes GLA have long had this end of the market to themselves, and VW will need to prove it can provide flexible, comfortable and safe transport at a reasonable price to stand out here.
So, if you're in the market for a small SUV, should you consider the Volkswagen Tiguan, and which version should you buy? Nigel Swan has been finding out.
