There will be an electrified version of every model line Audi, Bentley, Porsche, Seat, Skoda and Volkswagen make on sale by 2030.

As part of its so-called Roadmap E plan, the Volkswagen Group also plans to launch 80 new electrified models by 2025. Of those 80 models, 30 will be plug-in hybrids and 50 will be all-electric. The company has also pledged to make its cars affordable, saying that "electric cars are no longer the toys for the few".

Audi and Volkswagen already have electrified cars on sale, but this latest new model blitz will see each of its core brands bring at least one fully electric model to market. Among the new products are SUVs, saloons, hatchbacks and MPVs.

This announcement couldn't come soon enough, either, as the Volkswagen Group is still dealing with the fallout from 2015's Dieselgate emissions scandal. In one of the biggest procurements in the company's history, the group is investing around £18 billion into what it terms as e-mobility – which means electric car development and the industrial infrastructure to build them.

The timeline Volkswagen has presented puts the company significantly behind Volvo, which has said you won't be able to buy a non-electrified new car after 2023, and Jaguar Land Rover, which has targeted 2020 as the start date for every new model line being electrified.

So which all-electric cars are coming from the Volkswagen Group? Over the next few pages, we've gathered together every car we know is in development from each of the group's core brands.

Audi E-Tron

The first all-electric Audi SUV will go on sale next year, offering a range of at least 310 miles. Inspired heavily by the E-Tron quattro concept car of 2016, the car was initially expected to be called Q6, although Audi says it’s now saving that moniker for another SUV.

Scheduled to go on sale in 2019, one year after the regular E-Tron, this style-led variant was previewed by the Elaine concept car at this year’s Frankfurt motor show. Set to take on other coupé-SUVs including the BMW X6 and Mercedes GLE Coupé, the E-Tron Sportback is designed to attract buyers who like the look of the A7 but who want a more commanding view of the road.

Back in 2009, Audi first floated the idea of an all-electric version of its R8 sports car, but the project stalled several times and was cancelled entirely in 2015. Now, rumours are surfacing that Audi could make a high-performance electric car, but this time with a design and approach that’s separate from the current R8. Don’t expect to see any fruits of the project this side of 2020, though.
